I haven't written an update in a while so I thought I'd do that. Since my last post I've focused on gaining weight, playing more fighting games and preparing to go back to university.

Fitness

In my last post I was still (approximately) 70kg. Now I've beefed up to 75kg! My goal (long term) is to reach 90kg, which is about 200lbs. Then I'll focus on min-max my health while slowly growing my muscles and reducing fat. I don't think I'll ever be super shredded or anything like that, but I'll be pretty huge which is the goal. If I think I'm getting fat I'll slow down since risking my health isn't worth it. I don't really have anything else to say about that though. I'll keep updates as time goes by, perhaps every 5kg? Once I hit 80kg I think I'll start thinking more about my measurements, bicepcs, chest, legs, waist, etc. I'm not a bodybuilder but I should treat myself like one for the sake of ease and simplicity.

This is an extra large t-shirt!

Gaming

I've been playing a lot more fighting games lately, with my focus being primarily on Virtua Fighter 5 : REVO World Stage. I don't really play ranked on VF5 but I've met a lot of nice people through my stream, even being invited to a steam community group chat thing. It's like discord but built into steam which is neat. My main character so far is Goh, however I will eventually swap to Akira as he's just the coolest.

What a weird title. It's too long!

Alongside VF5, I've also been exploring Fighting EX Layer. I'm currently Pawn 5 rank, I'm looking to push to at least Knight rank. Although having said that I don't really care much about ranks in the long term. I'm just playing games for the achievements. After that I'll just play lobby matches with people. Then with 100% achievements I'll just play for monthly tournaments if I can get the time to play them. By the way it's only $1 right now on steam and playstation! I recommend buying it immediately because it's really fun.

Infinite fun, for the price of a cheeseburger!

After playing through FEXL and getting comfortable with Virtua Fighter I'll probably play a bunch more fighting games, with the goal of playing vs high level opponents in multiple games! Now all that said it's not just fighting games as I'll be playing more StarCraft soon in the Coach Pupil League. I've switched from being a Terran main to a Protoss main. It's less demanding and just as fun. I think as time goes by I'll just learn all 3 races and try to gain a deeper mastery of the game as a whole. Aaaaa I just don't have enough time in the world for all this gaming.

University

Looking towards my academic and financial future, I've decided to re-try my final module at uni. It's the only thing I failed but the only thing I couldn't fail if I wanted to pass. It's a dissertation and I think the goal will be to develop a video game which can be played through a browser using a keyboard or touch controls. I don't have a lot to say right now, but it's exciting. On top of that I've been applying for a new job, my current job is great but it's not where my future is. It's retail and I want to be a programmer for a living. To help with that I'm exploring not just jobs, but also internships. With a dialogue in progress for a potential position over the next few months. That'd be a great way to get started in my next career!

Final Thoughts

I recently discovered the canvas in html. I've never heard of it before but it seems like a great way to develop games for the web. I'll definitely be exploring this over the next few weeks as I make a little game demo.
